Power of One Challenge - Week 1

I just started a new challenge over at the Sisterhood Of The Shrinking Jeans, called The Power of One Challenge!  I need a new start and this sounds perfect for me, and I really hope this will be the kickoff to a new me!  I have so many goals in mind, not just my weight but for my lifestyle too.  I'm scared and excited at the same time.  I'm scared because I'm always afraid of failing, and I'm excited because this could be the boost I need and by this summer, I could wear a bathing suit without a shirt over myself.

So the first thing I did this morning was step on my scales...ugh...those dreadful scales...I weighed in at...

211.6 pounds.

Here is my before picture (not a pretty one) :

I'm only going to start with 1 goal, mainly because when I set to many goals, I tend to overwhelm myself and then I give up.  So my first goal, since this is an eight week challenge, my first goal is to weigh in at 205 pounds at the end of the challenge.  Not a lot, but if I end up losing more, then that will be a perk!  Though I will set one long term goal, and that is, by June of 2011, I would like to pack up ALL of my 2X clothing and donated it to the Three Day Stampede (which is a charity event for MS).

  1. Great goals. Seeing the before picture as you continue to change will give you motivation. I might have to take one myself. Good luck.

  2. let me go yoda on you for a minute. there is no fail! unless you just give up - and you're not gonna do that to yourself. you might struggle a bit here and there, but that's what your sisters are here for!

  3. great goals -- you can definitely do this! thanks for sharing the before picture too -- you rock!

  4. I totally get the setting just one goal thing - too many can just sound like too much change all at once. Good luck on the challenge!

  5. You can do it! Shrinking Jeans is great with all the support that they offer.

    Good luck in this challenge.

  6. You can totally do this! All of the Sisters are behind you!

  7. you definitely can do it! thanks for sharing...

good luck with the challenge...!! :)

  8. Yeah what Brooke said! You can do it and you will!

  9. YOU can do it! I can't wait to see a picture of you packing up all of those "too big" clothes!

  10. Ohhh... I wish I had known about this challenge when it first started. Good luck on the challenge!

Last night I was told a quote that really seems to stick with me now. And it really fits here.

Think you can or think you can't, you are right.

Basically if you go into this thinking you can do it, then you are right. Go into this thinking that you can't do it, then you are also right.
